Shhh!
Shhh!
When in the library.
Shhh!
When Grandma’s having tea.
Shhh!
When baby’s fast asleep;
Not a noise—not a peep.
Shhh!
When Dad gets home from work.
Shhh!
Or he will go berserk.
Shhh!
When it is time for bed.
Shhh!
Shhh!
Shhh!
My mother said.
But you know what’s such a riot?
All her shushing’s sure not quiet.
